Text:	Analytical Mechanics, 6th or 7th edition by Fowles & Cassiday (Thomson Brooks/Cole) (Detailed Syllabus)
Tests:	One "in-class" Mid term exam on (To be announced) and homework problems will be counted towards the grade.
Examination:	A comprehensive final examination will be given on 5:00 P.M Tuesday, 28st of April in Room 272, Science Center.
Homework:	1) Homework assignments (all the sheets stapled together) are to be turned in at the beginning of the class periods one week after their assignment. When possible, these papers will be returned during the next class period. Late homework will not be graded. 2) Homework from the text (in addition to the ones listed) will be assigned throughout the semester.
Grade:	All tests, and exams are closed-book, closed notes, except for the integral tables when necessary. Final grade will be determined on the following basis: Mid Term Exam ~40% Final Examination ~40% Homework ~20%
Cheating:	The papers of students involved in cheating or duplicating work will be given a zero grade.
Other Texts:	Several other books are on 3 day reserve at the Pullen library.  1) Introduction to Classical Mechanics, by Atam P Arya (2nd ed),  2) Landau and Lifshitz, Mechanics, 3) Goldstein Classical mechanics,  4) Classical Mechanics, by John Taylor (University Science Books)
Withdraw:	The last day students may withdraw with a "W" (Only for students performing at passing level)  grade is March 2nd, 2009. A grade of "WF" is automatically given to students who withdraw after that date.
