WRITTEN ASSIGNMENTS: PHYS 6300

TEACHING PHYSICS    FALL 2008

This first assignment is continuous throughout the semester.

You are required to perform the lab experiments before your in-class presentation. The lab report on that particular lab is due on the day of presentation. In addition, you should submit a quiz which might be suitable for each lab. Each report will be graded by all other students and results discussed in order to have a uniform grading for undergraduate lab students. Graded reports are due on the following class.

This second assignment is due on (to be announced).

Read at least one chapter from the book ``The Teaching Introductory Physics'' by Arnold B. Arons. A copy of this book is on 7 day reserve in the Pullen Library (South desk). Each Student should pick a different chapter.

If you wish to read and discuss more than one chapter, feel free!

1. In roughly a page or two, summarize this ``Aron'' chapter you selected. Also summarize the three articles discussed in the class. (One page)

2. Discuss the important points (you find useful) in those articles addressing how would those impact on your teaching skills.

REMINDER: The video containing your presentation is due on or before the last day of classes. (Dec 10th).
