In this work the study of Planetary nebulae (PNe) using spectrophotometric mapping and 3D photoionization modeling is presented. The implication of the use of 3D photoionization codes to PNe research and their use in the distance determination to these objects are discussed. The results for NGC 6369 and Mz1 are presented as well as future perspectives of this research.
