This talk will first present our work in real-time classification of brain state based on fMRI data. Our approach allows the "reading" of brain state, on a TR-by-TR basis, without any prior assumption of brain activation. Secondly, I will discuss the use integrated correlation as a
measure of local coherence and its neurobiological relevance and applications. Finally, analysis of effective connectivity using Granger causality analysis will be presented, with an emphasis on a multivariate approach and its application to examine group differences in tactile perception and to examine dynamic changes in the motor network during fatigue.
