The Cluster as a Superatom

A brief review of the physics of atomic clusters will be presented, the
main emphasis being on metallic systems with delocalised electrons,
whose properties are characterised by plasmon oscillations. Various models
for their structure will be described, leading to the experimental
and theoretical study of electron attachment, and the observation of resonances
in the low energy attachment spectrum.
