Welcome to the website of the Georgia State University's chapter of Society of Physics Students. The Society of Physics Students (SPS) is a professional association explicitly designed for students. The Georgia State chapter is open to all students with a genuine interest in science and/or physics.

GSU students receive many benefits from becoming an SPS member such as:

  • Eligibility to scholarships and internships from the SPS national office.
  • Receive monthly scientific magazines of your choice.
  • Participate in the SPS events.
  • Serve as a tutor in the SPS Physics Tutoring Program
  • Eligibility for nomination to Sigma Pi Sigma, the national honor society for physicists.
  • Access to the SPS study room (includes 3 internet capable computers, microwave, refrigerator, lockers, 2 couches, desks, reference books, 2 white boards)
  • Opportunity to work with other physics majors on key concepts.
  • Opportunity to run for office.
