Astronomy PhD candidate student, Sushant Mahajan won the prize for best student poster at IAU 335 in Exeter, UK, July 17-21. The conference was titled “Space Weather of the Heliosphere: Processes and Forecasts” and aimed to “further knowledge on space weather by linking various aspects of research in solar, heliospheric and planetary physics, and by putting great emphasis on cross-disciplinary developments.” Mahajan’s work is significant for predicting the solar cycle within half a cycle ahead of time.
