Aparna Venkataramanasastry was awarded a Daniel K Inouye Solar Telescope (DKIST) fellowship by the National Solar Observatory. Aparna is a third year graduate student in astronomy working on space weather prediction with Profs. Martens and Jefferies. The fellowship will support Aparna half time for up to two years. Aparna will be observing solar magnetic field in ultra-high resolution as soon as DKIST sees first light in 2020. Aparna combines this effort with the analysis of solar data from GSU’s South Pole station, obtained by Dr. Jefferies.
